No doubt the most prevalent question in everyone’s minds today during Bev Perdue’s talk at CPCC’s Tate Hall surrounded Charlotte’s share of the capital’s attention and resources, especially in light of the economy.
Perdue’s comments were fairly general, but also generally well received. No doubt this was not the easiest crowd for her to please.
Here’s the summary:
- high risks are worth taking: bold opportunities require smart investments
- the biomedical industry is crucial, and there’s enough to go around in NC
- “I’m banking on Charlotte-Mecklenburg.
- “Work on green, work on aerospace, work on biotech.”
- Believes travel & tourism are likely to surpass agriculture as local North Carolina industries in her lifetime.
